I have been coaching kids soccer for about 5 years now, soccer was my love, I played it and coached it! I found a new love about 2 years ago called CrossFit. This is my main sport and it can make my day better by just walking into the gym! I had this dream that combined two things that I loved, those things were coaching kids and CrossFit. I want to help children become better athletes and healthier people. Nowadays all children really do is sit in front of videogames and drink their sodas, but I have this vision that I hope I can succeed in and that is to create a cleaner, fitter generation, and I plan to do this through CrossFit.
'What is CrossFit? CrossFit is an effective way to get fit. Anyone can do it. It is a fitness program that combines a wide variety of functional movements into a timed or scored workout. We do pull-ups, squats, push-ups, weightlifting, gymnastics, running, rowing, and a host of other movements. Always varied, always changing, always producing results. Kids, cops, firefighters, soccer moms, Navy SEALS, and grandmas all do CrossFit. In fact, hundreds of thousands worldwide have followed our workouts and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes. Welcome.'
Many people have heard that strength training and weightlifting are bad for children. First, let me say that I am in no way endorsing or validating any of these people or their statements in these articles as we are not doctors; we are just merely giving you some resources to form your own opinion. Please read these articles if you are skeptical or do research on your own to come up with a conclusion on whether you think it is safe for your child.

In my own personal opinion, I believe that conditioning and fitness is the best thing for young adults and children. I am not just saying this because I am trying to push my gym, I am saying this because it is healthy and that's what I care about is children's health. CrossFit changed my life and made me make my own decisions such as to give up sodas and to try to eat healthier. We, at CrossFit Rugrats, look forward to working with your children on making them more active and healthier individuals by making fitness not only a fun thing to do but also to be a new lifestyle.
