Julie Foucher has been competing in the CrossFit Games for about 4 years now. She has been in medical school during this time and she decided it was time to take a break from The Games, she decided that 2015 would be her last year. She was on her way to the Games, she was placing incredibly well during Regionals. She was doing her first workout on Saturday and it was long and full of high reps. The workout went like this: 1-mile run, 50 overhead squats, 100 GHD sit-ups, 150 double-unders, 50 sumo deadlift high-pulls, and 100 box jump overs. She was doing her box jump overs when she felt something in the back of her ankle pull. She thought that a bar had rolled on her, she went ahead and finished the rest she could with one-legged box jumps. It turned out that she had torn her Achilles tendon, she wanted to keep going and finish the day so they put her in a boot. Her next event was a 250-ft handstand walk, athletes had to run across the arena then walk on their hands back. The video attached is so inspirational and all of the spectators were going crazy for her! Her next event was to find a 1 rep max snatch and she did the best she could. She finished the rest of the weekend and was able to finish in 8th place! She's amazing for being able to continue like that.
